Update & Next Steps

Hurricane Helene Response

Last Updated 12/20/24

Facility Status

Update: The Board Room at Hatch Coworking Space is now open and offering training boards, weights, cardio, yoga, and a sauna/cold plunge. Visit us at 45 S French Broad Ave, Asheville, NC 28801

We’re heartbroken to share that our Cultivate Climbing facility at 173 Amboy sustained significant damage from Hurricane Helene. We are currently assessing whether to rebuild or just move forward with our two additional facilities that we’ve been in the process of developing (Hatch and the bouldering gym).

As for our new bouldering gym, the building that we were moving into was also severely damaged. We are carefully considering whether to repair the facility or move it to a new site. We’ve already identified a few options. Thankfully, all of the walls and equipment are safe at sea—ready to be installed once we finalize our next steps. While we don’t yet have a timeline, we’ll keep you posted and move forward as quickly as possible.

Membership Information

Update: we will be resuming full price memberships 1/1/25.

Your membership makes a huge difference in speeding up our recovery and bringing Cultivate back to life. We deeply appreciate those of you who are able to continue your memberships during this time—it’s truly our lifeline.

Thank you for your patience as we navigate the large volume of requests. We have recently added dedicated staff member to keep up with your requests.

Hatch Facility Opening

Update: The Board Room is now open!

There’s light on the horizon! We’re thrilled to announce that the Hatch Board Room facility will be opening earlier than expected. We now anticipate opening sometime towards the end of November.

The Hatch facility will provide a space for our community to gather and stay active. Here’s what you can look forward to:

  • 3-4 climbing boards, including a Kilter Board and Moon Board
  • Sauna and cold plunge for hot-cold therapy
  • Temporary shower facilities
  • Cardio equipment and weights for strength training

We’re also working on setting up a yoga room and yoga program, which is on track to launch the first week of November. Classes will be included with your membership. Stay tuned for more details!

Free Guided Climbing Trips for Members

To show our appreciation to our members, we’re offering free guided outdoor rock climbing trips twice a week for members only. These trips will allow you to get outside, learn new skills, and connect with fellow climbers while we rebuild. These trips will go to different climbing areas in WNC and happen every Wednesday and Saturday. Please visit our Guided Climbing webpage to learn more.

Thank You for Your Support

We are so grateful for your continued support during this challenging time. Your encouragement and active memberships mean the world to us and are helping us rebuild faster.

Thank you for your patience as we respond to membership requests. Together, we’ll overcome these challenges and return stronger than ever.

Stay safe, take care of each other, and climb on!

With gratitude and hope,
The Cultivate Team
